One of Ghana’s successful businessman Ibrahim Bashiru says a number of businesses in Ghana are yet to recover from the negative impacts of COVID-19 on the industry.
He advised the government to stimulate the economy through the provision of stimulus packages to businesses that are likely to suffer production in these trying times.
Speaking in an interview the businessman who is also one of the showbiz industry stakeholders specialized in artiste management and branding says the creative industry has been adversely affected by the novel coronavirus.
Making reference to market research by the creative industry stakeholders on the effect of the pandemic on the industry, he said the creative arts industry had been adversely affected especially in the music and movie sectors where musicians and actors cannot organized outdoor events such as musical concerts and movie premiere.
He mentioned that the COVID-19 pandemic is a canker eating away the growth of many in the entertainment industry, adding “Due to the virus, there are limitations in some jurisdictions on concerts and outdoor performances”.
He indicated that no matter how artists have been able to perform at events and be with their fans, COVID-19 has destroyed a lot of opportunities.
He, however, wished for things to be back to normal; where he could travel anywhere in the world; be at concerts or shoot music videos without restrictions.
He revealed plans of unveiling a new artiste he has decided to work with as well as unveiling some of his projects put in place to support the creative arts industry.
